We have vegetarian and vegan restaurants as well as non-vegetarian places that offer vegetarian or vegan alternatives.   • Rebar Modern Food – vegetarian with vegan options – the “freshest, funkiest food on the West Coast.”

  • Blue Crab – also close to the Admiral, it’s one of the best seafood restaurants in town. (link to: http://www.nichedining.com/)

  • Nautical Nellie’s Seafood – good seafood and Angus steaks

  • Barb’s Place Fish & Chips – open only from March to October, it’s hands down the best in town – and really close to the Admiral.

  • Café Mexico – good solid Mexican food in a lovely ambience. 1425 Store St. Victoria, BC 250-386-1425.

  • Thai Siam – the only original Thai restaurant in Victoria. Good food, family atmosphere.

  • JJ’s Wonton Noodle House – don’t let the classic formic tables and naugahyde booths fool you – this is one of the best Asian restaurants in town!

  • Ferris Oyster Bar – terrific food and wonderful ambience. 536 Yates St. Victoria, BC 250-260-1824. (no website)

  • Chandlers Seafood – voted best seafood in town 8 years running. (

  • The Empress Room – one of the must do’s for fine dining in Victoria.

  • The Bengal Lounge – another ‘must-do’ for visting Victoria.

  • Harbour House – quite simply one of the most relaxed fine dining establishments in Victoria, with one of the best menus around. 

  • Santiago’s – some of the best Latin food in a colourful fun atmosphere. 660 Oswego St. 250-388-7376 (no website)

  • John’s Place – locals love it, visitors make a point of stopping here.

  • Dutch Bakery – a Victoria institution since the 1950’s and still family owned, you have to check out their restaurant as well as their bakery. Open for breakfast and lunch only. 

  • Sam’s Deli – another Victoria institution, serving great sandwiches day and evening.

  • Paggliaci’s – another one of Victoria’s institutions, this place has been around since the mid 1970s and its success is evident by the line ups and the locals who frequent the place. 1011 Broad St. 250-386-1662 (no website)

  • Don Mee’s – famed for both their dim sum and their celebrity photos on the wall (Michael J. Fox and Goldie Hawn have both eaten here) Don Mee’s is a must visit for anyone coming to town.

  • Il Terrazo – good, grown up Italian food in a wonderful ambience – if you can, get a table on their patio.

  • Ming’s – outstanding and authentic Chinese cuisine.

  • Milo’s – Greek food at affordable prices. 716 Burdett St. 250-382-4422 (no website)

  • Green Cuisine – one of Victoria’s best kept Vegan secrets.

  • Futaba Japanese – in addition to the meat and fish servings, there are also vegetarian & vegan options. 1420 Quadra St. 250-381-6141 (no website)

  • Le Petit Saigon – Vietnamese Food with vegan options, this lovely restaurant has been around for a while, but never grows stale. 1010 Langely St. 250-386-1412 (no website)

  • Lotus Pond Vegetarian Restaurant – a strictly vegan restaurant run along Buddhist principles. Highly recommended. 617 Johnson St. 380-9293 (no website)

  • The Parsonage Café – fully vegetarian with vegan options. “A cosy little café with excellent food and fabulous coffee.” 1115 North Park St. 250-383-5999 (no website)
